Kyrie Irving beats Wizards in OT thanks to drawn fouls on 3-pointers (VIDEO)

Kyrie Irving helped the Boston Celtics beat the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. Twice.

The first instance of Irving’s heroics came as regulation wound down in the District of Columbia. With Wizards forward Markieff Morris switched onto him, Irving went up with a quick draw on a 3-pointer.

The slower Morris wound up fouling Irving, allowing the Celtics to hit three free throws with 9.8 seconds left to draw the teams even at 98-98.

For what it’s worth, Morris said he didn’t foul Irving on the final play for the Celtics in the fourth quarter.

Irving did this again to Morris in the overtime period, grabbing three free throws and fouling Morris out of the game.

Then, with Boston up by two possessions and the ball in Irving’s hand, Bradley Beal fouled Irving with 14.8 seconds to go.

This is why they lost. Kept putting Kyrie on FT line. Not a “superstar” call. A foul. All of em. No, the refs don’t hate your team #WizCelticspic.twitter.com/OBUYuv8k3W
